Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the inaugural release for Curtis Mayfield's newly established independent label, this album represents a deepening of the group's commitment to social consciousness. The exquisite vocal harmonies are married to lush, sweeping orchestral arrangements, directly addressing the racial and political tensions of late-1960s America while maintaining a deeply soulful elegance.
