Making their highly controversial leap to a major label, the Chicago noise-rock titans enlisted producer GGGarth Richardson to refine their infamously abrasive sound. While slightly cleaner in its sonic presentation than their Steve Albini-produced classics, the driving, muscular rhythm section and David Yow's unhinged, manic vocals ensure their ferocity remains entirely intact. The record failed to achieve mainstream success but retained their core underground intensity.
