Album Notes & Community Reviews

Dominating the pop charts, this incredibly polished release effectively ignited the mainstream, collegiate folk revival of the early 1960s. The collegiate trio presents sanitized, exceptionally tight harmonic interpretations of traditional ballads and global folk songs, removing any gritty rural edges. The massive commercial success of the project laid the essential, highly accessible groundwork for the more politically charged acoustic singer-songwriters that followed.
