Album Notes & Community Reviews
The incendiary sophomore album by the pioneering spoken-word collective escalated their militant, Black nationalist rhetoric over sparse, thunderous conga rhythms. Addressing the systemic racism of America and the internal struggles of the Black liberation movement, the intensely rhythmic poetry directly prophesied the cadences and themes of hip-hop. The album's uncompromising political stance famously earned the group a spot on Richard Nixon's counter-intelligence hit list.
