Album Notes & Community Reviews

Best known for featuring the first commercially successful recording of the folk standard 'Hey Joe', this debut album epitomizes the raw, jangly energy of mid-60s Californian garage rock. The Leaves blended the melodicism of The Byrds with a fuzz-drenched, aggressive edge, laying vital groundwork for the emerging psychedelic scene. The record captures the frantic, transient brilliance of the Sunset Strip club circuit.
