Album Notes & Community Reviews

Concluding their 'no-synth' trilogy, Stephin Merritt鈥檚 ensemble fully embraced lush, acoustic chamber-folk orchestration. The record features meticulous, organic arrangements that highlight Merritt's signature deadpan wit and acerbic lyrical observations regarding modern romance. It operates as a beautifully intricate, folksy counterpoint to their earlier, heavily synthesized indie-pop records.
