Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Marvelettes' second album of 1962, commonly referred to as 'The Marvelettes Sing (Smash Hits of 1962)', largely features the group covering contemporary hits by other artists alongside a few originals. While not as historically vital as their debut material, it provides a fascinating glimpse into Motown's early strategy of utilizing popular covers to build album catalogs quickly. The vocal performances remain reliably spirited and firmly rooted in early 60s R&B.
