Album Notes & Community Reviews
Brian Jones recorded the Master Musicians in the village of Jajouka in the Ahl Serif mountains of northern Morocco in a single night session, capturing the Sufi trance repertoire of the Attar family, hereditary custodians of the cult of Bou Jeloud. Jones prepared the tapes in London with engineer George Chkiantz, and the album appeared only after his death, its cover bearing a painting by Mohamed Hamri, the artist who had introduced Jones to the village.
