Album Notes & Community Reviews

Joined by guest saxophonist Sonny Rollins for several tracks, this open-air Berkshire performance beautifully disrupts the quartet's typically reserved, highly chamber-like aesthetics. The brilliant clash between heavily structured counterpoint and robust tenor improvisation creates an incredibly thrilling dynamic tension.
