Album Notes & Community Reviews

Inspired heavily by a marathon of vintage European action and revenge films consumed during the pandemic, John Darnielle crafted an upbeat, surprisingly violent concept album. Produced by Alicia Bognanno of Bully, the arrangements lean firmly into driving, distorted alternative rock, perfectly complementing the bloody, cinematic narratives of the lyrics.
