Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded directly onto a Panasonic boombox, John Darnielle's incredibly prolific lo-fi project reaches a distinctly nostalgic, bittersweet peak. The tape hiss perfectly frames his frantic acoustic strumming and wildly literate storytelling, heavily romanticizing the agricultural towns and snowy landscapes of the Midwestern United States.
