Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following more aggressive narrative records, John Darnielle shifts focus to the quiet, devastating aftermath of a breakup. The instrumentation relies heavily on hushed acoustic guitars, gentle piano, and string arrangements that amplify the lyrical isolation. It stands as one of the band's most intimate and sonically delicate releases.
