Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded heavily on his signature Panasonic boombox to capture an uncompromising, gritty intimacy, John Darnielle crafted an emotionally raw meditation on grief and death. 'The Coroner's Gambit' relies almost entirely on frantic, buzzing acoustic guitar strumming and his vivid, highly literary lyrical delivery.
