Album Notes & Community Reviews

John Darnielle's fourteenth album as The Mountain Goats famously incorporates a full horn section arranged by Matthew E. White. The lush, jazz-inflected folk-rock production provides a stark contrast to his dark, deeply empathetic lyrical portraits of outcasts dealing with mental illness and addiction in Washington state.
