Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Dutch art-pop ensemble The Nits achieved a significant creative breakthrough with 'New Flat', moving firmly away from standard power pop into highly sophisticated, synthesizer-laced new wave. Characterized by Henk Hofstede's idiosyncratic songwriting and quirky, observational lyricism, the album perfectly balances intellectual post-punk tension with deeply melodic hooks. It established the foundation for their long, revered career in European art-rock.
