Album Notes & Community Reviews

An essential artifact of the Exotica movement, 'Polynesian Fantasy' was masterminded by Capitol Records arranger Billy May. The heavily stylized recording relies on sweeping strings, marimbas, and faux-jungle sound effects to construct an idealized, cinematic vision of a South Pacific paradise for mid-century listeners.
