Album Notes & Community Reviews

Finding massive commercial success in America while remaining largely ignored in their native Britain, this debut album perfected a slick, radio-ready fusion of new wave pop and arena rock. 'Play Deep' is dominated by John Spinks' driving, chiming guitar riffs and Tony Lewis' soaring, high-register vocals, heavily utilizing polished 1980s studio techniques. The ubiquitous hit 'Your Love' propelled the remarkably consistent record to multi-platinum status.
