Return of The Rentals

Formed by Weezer bassist Matt Sharp, the alternative rock supergroup's debut is a wildly infectious, deeply nostalgic celebration of vintage synthesizer pop. Driven entirely by incredibly prominent, buzzing Moog synthesizers and tight male-female vocal harmonies, the remarkably catchy songwriting heavily recalls the synth-driven new wave of the late 1970s. Propelled by the massive MTV hit 'Friends of P.', the record became a defining, wonderfully geeky alternative classic.
