Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded in 1974 but famously withheld until 1978 in adherence to the band's 'Theory of Obscurity,' 'Not Available' is a surreal rock opera born from internal band tensions. The album's experimental sound creates a dense, theatrical soundscape using drum machines, grand piano, horns, and prominent string synthesizers, all layered with cartoonish, distorted vocals. Structured as a four-part narrative with an epilogue, the work uses a Greek chorus to drive its abstract and deeply personal psychodrama.
