Taking a predictably bizarre turn, the anonymous avant-garde collective dedicated an entire album to deeply disturbing, synthesized reinterpretations of Elvis Presley classics alongside their own original compositions. 'The King and I' utilizes intensely cold, early MIDI instrumentation and chilling, deadpan vocal deliveries to deconstruct the mythos of American rock and roll. It is a brilliant, unsettling piece of musical satire that completely subverts pop nostalgia.
