Album Notes & Community Reviews

The veteran Scottish soul singer recruited the heavy progressive band Tear Gas to act as his backing group, resulting in a wildly theatrical, menacing debut. The album merges sleazy, hard-edged blues-rock with Harvey鈥檚 intensely charismatic, heavily accented vocal delivery and vaudevillian storytelling. It laid the foundation for their unique brand of aggressive, street-level glam rock.
