Album Notes & Community Reviews

James Mercer expands his songwriting palette with electronic flourishes and psychedelic textures on The Shins' third album. The songs are more nocturnal and introspective than their previous hits, dealing with insomnia and anxiety. It was a commercial breakthrough, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200.
