Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Ska-Boo-Da-Ba' is an essential early document of the fast-paced, horn-heavy instrumental sound that laid the direct groundwork for rocksteady and reggae. The legendary Skatalites, featuring jazz-trained virtuosos like Tommy McCook and Don Drummond, blend American R&B influences with calypso to create fiercely syncopated dance music. It remains a foundational text in the history of Jamaican popular music.
