Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Al Bell utilizing the legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, the family gospel group perfected their crossover into mainstream secular soul. The record masterfully blends deeply spiritual, conscious lyricism with infectious, swampy funk grooves, famously resulting in the massive number one hit 'I'll Take You There'. It serves as an essential touchstone of the classic Stax Records sound in the 1970s.
