Album Notes & Community Reviews

Demonstrating Motown's shift toward more sophisticated, pop-oriented material, 'I Hear a Symphony' pairs The Supremes with elaborate orchestral arrangements crafted by Holland-Dozier-Holland. Diana Ross's lead vocals are elegant and breathy, perfectly suited to the album's mature romantic themes and swelling strings. It represents a creative peak in their transition from a teenage girl group to global pop icons.
