Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released mere months after the tragic death of the soul pioneer, this tribute album finds Motown's premier girl group interpreting the beloved catalog of Sam Cooke. Diana Ross delivers subdued, highly respectful lead vocals, shedding some of the typical Motown pop gloss to honor Cooke's gospel and R&B roots. The record effectively highlighted the massive influence Cooke wielded over the entire 1960s soul music landscape.
