Album Notes & Community Reviews
A high-octane album from the Scandinavian free jazz power trio, 'Action Jazz' is exactly what its title promises. The album features a set of blistering, high-energy deconstructions of classic material from artists like Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, and even the rock band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The music is a visceral and joyful explosion of sound, blending the freedom of European free improvisation with the raw power and volume of punk rock. It's a perfect document of the trio's uncompromising and wildly entertaining style.
