Album Notes & Community Reviews

Propelled by their prominent, scene-stealing appearances in the film 'Purple Rain', this third album from the Prince-affiliated funk group achieved massive commercial success. Driven by the swaggering hit singles 'Jungle Love' and 'The Bird', the record exemplifies the slick, synthesizer-heavy groove of the Minneapolis Sound. Shortly after the album's release, Morris Day departed for a solo career, leading to the band's temporary dissolution.
