Album Notes & Community Reviews

Julian Casablancas aggressively steps away from the polished indie-rock of The Strokes to front this chaotic, highly experimental ensemble. The massive, hour-long record is a noisy, confusingly brilliant collage of heavy metal riffing, lo-fi synthesizer funk, and distorted, politically charged vocal rants. It was celebrated for its wildly ambitious, anti-commercial audacity.
