Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Wedding Present delivered a defining document of the C86 movement, characterized by incredibly frantic, violently strummed indie pop guitars. David Gedge's conversational, highly sarcastic lyricism tackles themes of romantic jealousy and mundane heartbreak over a relentlessly energetic, noisy rhythm section. The album remains a beloved, breathless milestone of late-80s British jangle pop.
