Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded in France, the veteran British indie rock act's eighth studio album reliably delivers the frantic strumming and conversational lyricism that defined their massive influence on the 1980s underground. David Gedge's unmistakable vocal delivery continues to dissect relationship neuroses over driving, melodic guitar arrangements. While offering few stylistic surprises, the record proves the enduring vitality of their foundational jangle-punk sound.
