Album Notes & Community Reviews

Conceptually framed as a retro-radio broadcast guiding the listener through a state of purgatory, 'Dawn FM' is a largely upbeat album that heavily incorporates the sounds of 1980s synth-pop, new wave, and funk. The production, led by The Weeknd with collaborators like Max Martin and Oneohtrix Point Never, creates a seamless sonic experience that balances polished dance-pop structures with versatile vocal melodies. Narrated interludes from Jim Carrey and Quincy Jones enhance the album's thematic exploration of regret and existentialism, positioning it as the second installment in a trilogy following 'After Hours'.
