Brilliantly structured as a pirate radio broadcast complete with fake commercials and jingles, The Who released a fiercely conceptual, remarkably witty pop-art triumph. 'The Who Sell Out' is wonderfully playful and highly satirical, blending deeply melodic, tightly crafted freakbeat with intensely energetic, surprisingly thoughtful psychedelic rock.
