Album Notes & Community Reviews

The highly anticipated sophomore effort from the British independent outfit pursued a slightly darker, more textured indie rock sound than their debut. While retaining their signature acoustic drive, the album incorporates dense synthesizers and complex string arrangements that occasionally divided critical opinion. Nevertheless, the frantic, melodic energy highlighted their unique position on the precipice of the incoming 'Madchester' dance-rock crossover[cite: 1].
