Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded during his first trip to Europe, 'Piano Solo' captures the enigmatic pianist in a rare, unaccompanied setting in Paris. Stripped of a rhythm section, the sessions isolate his highly idiosyncratic use of space, dissonance, and stride-influenced rhythms. It is a vital, intimate portrait of his unparalleled harmonic architecture.
