Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Field of Reeds' is a radical departure from the rhythmic art-punk of These New Puritans' earlier work, embracing a lush and somber chamber music aesthetic. The album features brass ensembles, choirs, and unconventional instruments like a magnetic resonator piano, creating a sound that is both ancient and experimental. It is a highly composed and atmospheric record that moves the band into the realm of modern classical and avant-garde jazz.
