Album Notes & Community Reviews
The Irish trio's second studio album finds them still searching for their definitive sound prior to the addition of twin lead guitars. Phil Lynott's songwriting is profoundly melancholic and introspective, blending heavy, fuzzed-out blues rock with poignant acoustic balladry and Celtic folk influences. While lacking the commercial punch of their later hits, it is a deeply personal and underappreciated entry in their discography.
