Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally conceived as a self-released demo in 2005, 'Young Mountain' established This Will Destroy You's signature sound with its soaring, cinematic, and instrumental post-rock. The six-song recording is defined by its powerful dynamic shifts, moving from fragile, ambient passages to immense walls of sound, all constructed around layered guitar melodies and powerful rhythms. Its rapid growth from a tour-only CD-R to a widely reissued genre touchstone was fueled by its evocative quality, leading to extensive use in film and media and cementing its legacy as a foundational work.
