An Ancient Observer

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Armenian jazz virtuoso's eighth studio album is a largely solo acoustic effort, deeply inspired by his observations of the world around him, including the view of Mount Ararat from his home. The tracking showcases his astonishing technical ability on the piano, weaving complex polyrhythms and classical phrasing with subtle vocal beatboxing and synthesizer textures. The compositions seamlessly blend traditional Armenian folk melodies with modern jazz improvisation.
