Recorded entirely following the birth of her first child, the British vocalist reunited with long-time producer Mica Levi to construct a profoundly intimate, lo-fi pop record. The album strips away conventional R&B structures in favor of incredibly sparse, distorted synthesizer drones, dissonant guitars, and deeply hushed vocals. It stands as a beautiful, slightly unsettling exploration of maternal love and physical exhaustion.
