Album Notes & Community Reviews

Puente leads his orchestra through twelve short cha-cha-ch谩s, catalogued as LP-1010 and built entirely for the dance floor. Its program takes in Rosendo Ruiz Jr.'s 'Rico Vacil贸n' and 'Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White', a ten-week American number one for P茅rez Prado. The set captures the orchestra that had presented the cha-cha-ch谩 to American concert audiences at Carnegie Hall in 1954, with Puente fronting the band on timbales.
