Officially stepping away from the Pearls Before Swine moniker, the American songwriter's second proper solo release maintains his signature, delicate acoustic melancholy. Recorded in Nashville with a cadre of seasoned session musicians, the album beautifully surrounds his lisping, fragile vocals with lush chamber-folk orchestrations and deeply poetic, existentially yearning lyricism.
