Album Notes & Community Reviews

Reflecting the shift in audience tastes away from aggressive dance swing toward smoother, high-fidelity pop, 'Tenderly' finds the legendary trombonist embracing lush orchestral arrangements. Tommy Dorsey's impeccably smooth, legato phrasing glides gracefully over sweeping strings and gentle brass charts. The album perfectly captures the sophisticated, romantic atmosphere of the mid-century easy listening market.
