Giant Steps (In Memory of John Coltrane)

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Having played piano on the famously arduous original 1960 recording, the virtuoso returned to John Coltrane's formidable compositions to honor his late collaborator. Fronting a stellar acoustic trio, Flanagan tackles the notoriously difficult chord changes with astonishing grace and fluidity. The session serves as a brilliant reinterpretation and a profound personal tribute.
