Album Notes & Community Reviews

The legendary Nigerian drummer and co-founder of Afrobeat delivers an incredibly smooth, beautifully recorded late-career masterpiece. 'Film of Life' perfectly showcases his incredibly complex, highly syncopated polyrhythms beneath remarkably warm, deeply soulful horn arrangements and guest vocal appearances (including Damon Albarn). The album is a wonderfully rhythmic, deeply melodic, and profoundly joyful celebration of African musical history.
