Album Notes & Community Reviews

The legendary Nigerian drummer and foundational architect of Afrobeat returns with a vibrant, purely traditional ensemble recording. Eschewing the electronic and dub experimentations of his previous solo efforts, the album is driven entirely by his unmistakable, highly complex polyrhythms and a blazing live horn section. It stands as a masterful, organic tribute to the classic groove aesthetics he pioneered alongside Fela Kuti.
