Stepping away from his primary role as the keyboard architect for Genesis, the musician crafted this lush, conceptually-driven solo debut. Loosely based on the novel 'Flowers for Algernon', the album is dominated by his sweeping Yamaha CS-80 synthesizer layers and intricate, melancholic chord progressions. Featuring Kim Beacon on vocals, it serves as a highly melodic, cinematic bridge between classic 70s symphonic rock and the pop-oriented textures of the 1980s.
