Album Notes & Community Reviews

Accompanied by a Sundance-winning short film, Topaz Jones's sophomore album provides a lush, funk-heavy exploration of Black American identity and coming-of-age in New Jersey. 'Don't Go Tellin' Your Momma' seamlessly integrates 1970s synth-funk and neo-soul grooves with sharp, introspective boom-bap lyricism. It was widely celebrated as a masterful, highly cohesive conceptual triumph in modern hip-hop.
