Album Notes & Community Reviews

Tortoise's eponymous debut introduced a highly rhythmic and instrumental approach to post-rock, heavily informed by krautrock and dub. The album utilizes incredibly repetitive and hypnotic structures to create a mellow, atmospheric soundscape that set the blueprint for the Chicago underground scene.
