Album Notes & Community Reviews

The third solo album by Japanese producer Towa Tei, 'Last Century Modern' is a late document of Shibuya-kei in its cosmopolitan phase. Its sampling and breakbeat constructions draw on bossa nova, acid jazz and drum and bass, gathering guest vocalists including UA on the title track, Chara on 'Let Me Know' and Les Nubians alongside Tom Browne on a cover of Browne's 'Funkin' for Jamaica'.
